| Gurustu and
Cookies
I highly recommend Mrs.
Breasleys and Snookies
Cookies.
As for the computer cookies you hear so much about, I have not
put in any cookie generators within my pages. However, I do use
third party vendors for my guestbook, forum and forms; as well
as my little Gurustuff shop. Here's a link to their privacy statements,
which should give you that information:

What Information Does Gurustu Collect?
The only personal information I collect is the stuff you provide.
You know, that name & email stuff you enter when you sign
my guestbook or join my mailing list. That's it about you.
Now I do have a stat thing on the site. It collects tidbits like
time of day, browser type, browser language, and referring address
when you come to visit. It's mostly to make me feel better....
that people are actually visiting this site. Also, it helps me
when making improvements to my site, because I know more about
the machines that I need to adjust my site for.
Links to Other Sites I have a link page that goes to
sites developed by people over whom I have no control. These other
sites may send their own cookies to users, collect data, or solicit
personal information. They may also say things that neither you
nor I agree with... but hey, that's them. It's not me.
With Whom Does Gurustu Share Information? Right now I
just brag to my friends that people come to my site. In the event
that Gurustu gets big enough that I talk with advertisers, business
partners, sponsors, and other third parties, then I might have
to tell them stuff. However, I'll only divulge aggregate information,
like amount of visits and types of machines, and not the personal
stuff unless I get your expressed consent first. (I saw on someone
else's privacy statement something about "divulging information
due to any valid legal process such as a search warrant, subpoena,
statute, or court order," so I guess then, yeah, that would
be one time I would divulge stuff too)
Your consent and changes to the Privacy Policy By visiting
the Gurustu web site, you consent to the collection and use of
your information as outlined in this policy. I may decide to change
this Privacy Policy from time to time, because I was also born
with Free Will, just like you. When I do, we will post those changes
on this page so that you are always aware of the information I
collect, how I use it, and under what circumstances I disclose
it.
COPPA Compliance
I actually do take privacy seriously, especially the
privacy of children. Because all the material is family-friendly,
the collection of the above mentioned information poses no threat
to the safety or well-being of people below the age of 13. For
more information on the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act,
visit their site at: http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/conline/pubs/buspubs/coppa.htm
Who can I ask if I have additional questions?
Feel free to contact me any time and I'll answer any additional
questions you may have. That email address is help@gurustu.com. |
